Baked Crispy BBQ Chicken Wings

Deliciously crispy baked chicken wings coated in a flavorful BBQ sauce, perfect for any gathering.

  • 1.5 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Toss the chicken wings with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large bowl.
  3. Add salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar to the bowl and mix until coated.
  4. Sprinkle in the cornstarch and toss the wings to coat.
  5. Spread the wings out on a lined baking sheet in a single layer.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Coat the wings in barbecue sauce after baking.
  8. Return the wings to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
  9. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.

Notes

Pair with celery and carrot sticks or coleslaw for a complete meal.
