Apple Clafoutis

A delightful blend of baked apples and custardy batter, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

  • 2 cups apples, sliced
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Butter for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a round pie dish or cast-iron skillet with butter.
  3. Core and slice your apples into thin wedges.
  4. Spread the sliced apples evenly in the greased dish.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  6. Slowly pour in the milk and vanilla extract, stirring continuously.
  7. Sift in the flour and salt, whisking until the batter is smooth.
  8. Gently pour the batter over the arranged apples.
  9. Pop your dish in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  10. Once baked, let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, dust with powdered sugar or top with whipped cream for best results.
