Homemade Cherry Muffins

Delicious cherry muffins that bring back fond memories and delicious tastes of summer.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and halved

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prep the Muffin Pan: Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, milk, eggs, and almond extract.
  5. Combine Wet and Dry: Pour wet ingredients into the dry mix and gently fold together.
  6. Fold in the Cherries: Gently add the halved cherries into the batter.
  7. Fill the Muffin Cups: Spoon batter into the muffin tin, filling each cup 2/3 full.
  8. Bake: Place in oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool and Enjoy: Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
