Gâteau Moelleux aux Pommes

A deliciously moist Soft Apple Cake filled with sweet, tender apples, evoking nostalgia and warmth.

  • 3 Apples
  • 200g Flour
  • 150g Sugar
  • 100g Melted Butter
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Packet of Baking Powder
  • 1 Pinch of Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon (optional)
  • Powdered Sugar (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a round cake pan (about 9 inches) with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the dry ingredients: whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  4. Beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the melted butter gradually to the egg mixture while whisking.
  6. Combine the dry and wet ingredients by folding them gently to maintain an airy texture.
  7. Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them.
  8. Incorporate the apple slices into the batter, coating them well.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  11. Cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
