Homemade Marinara Sauce

A classic recipe for homemade marinara sauce, perfect for your pasta night and full of rich flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 cans Canned Whole Tomatoes (28 oz each)
  • 2 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • Salt & Pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the minced garlic for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  3. Add the canned whole tomatoes (juice included) and break them up with a wooden spoon.
  4. Season with dried oregano, sugar, salt, and red pepper flakes while stirring together.
  5. Simmer for 20-30 minutes to develop the flavors.
  6. Adjust the seasoning to taste, using cream if too acidic.
  7. Finish by blending for a silky texture if desired.

Notes

Serve with freshly cooked spaghetti and garnished with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil. Can be stored in the fridge or frozen.
