A nostalgic cherry crisp recipe filled with sweet and tart flavors, perfect for summer gatherings.

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen cherries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • Vanilla ice cream (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the cherries by tossing them with granulated sugar and cornstarch in a bowl.
  3. Transfer the cherry mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Make the crisp topping by mixing rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon in another bowl. Add melted butter and blend until crumbly.
  5. Top the cherries with the oat mixture.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the topping is golden and the cherries are bubbling.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
  8. Scoop warm cherry crisp into bowls and top with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For a vegan option, use plant-based butter and maple syrup instead of sugar.
