Flan aux Pommes

A cozy French dessert combining creamy custard with the sweet and tart essence of apples, perfect for any gathering.

  • 3 Apples, Peeled and Sliced
  • 2 Cups Plain Yogurt
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the apples by sautéing them in a skillet over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until just tender.
  3. Blend together the yogurt, sugar, and eggs until smooth.
  4. Add the vanilla extract, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt to the mixture.
  5. Combine the sautéed apples in the mixture gently.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased round flan or tart pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until golden on the edges and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Notes

Serve inverted on a plate; garnish with whipped cream, cinnamon, mint, or caramel sauce.
