How to Freeze Peaches

A foolproof method for freezing peaches to enjoy summer sweetness all year round.

Ingredients

  • Fresh, ripe peaches
  • Lemon juice
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Wash and prepare the peaches by giving them a gentle rinse under cold water.
  2. Blanch the peaches in boiling water for 30-60 seconds.
  3. Transfer the blanched peaches into a bowl of ice water to halt the cooking process.
  4. Peel the skin off the cooled peaches and slice them into halves or quarters.
  5. Drizzle lemon juice over peach slices to prevent browning.
  6. Lay the peach slices on a baking sheet and freeze until solid (2-3 hours).
  7. Transfer the frozen peach slices to airtight bags or containers.

Notes

Label the containers with the date and use within a year for best flavor. Embrace imperfect peaches as every peach tells a story.
