A delightful blend of cake and tart filled with warm, tender apples and a hint of sweetness, perfect for sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 190 g all-purpose flour
  • 170 g soft butter (at room temperature)
  • 170 g granulated sugar (+ 1 tbsp for dusting)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 90 g almond flour
  • 50 g mascarpone
  • 2 tbsp orange blossom water
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 3 Gala apples (peeled and thinly sliced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a pie dish or tart pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened butter and granulated sugar. Cream them together until you achieve a light and fluffy mixture.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, almond flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Gradually fold this mixture into the wet ingredients.
  5. Next, fold in the mascarpone, milk, and orange blossom water.
  6. Now gently fold in the thinly sliced apples until they’re well coated with the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into your prepared dish and smooth it out. Sprinkle an extra tablespoon of sugar on top.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool for about 10-15 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, and enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For a variation, add chopped nuts, spices, berries, or dark chocolate to the batter.
