Freezing Peaches: A Frosty Delight

Learn how to freeze ripe peaches to enjoy summer flavors all year round. This easy guide shares step-by-step instructions and tips for perfect peach preservation.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Peaches
  • Lemon Juice
  • Freezer Bags

Instructions

  1. Wash and prep the peaches by rinsing under cool water and drying them with a towel. Slice each peach in half and remove the pit.
  2. Score the skin of the peaches and briefly blanch them in boiling water for about 30 seconds, then transfer to an ice bath.
  3. Squeeze lemon juice over the peach halves and toss to coat.
  4. Pack the peaches into freezer bags, removing excess air before sealing.
  5. Label the bags with the date and lay them flat in the freezer.

Notes

Use ripe freestone peaches for easier slicing. Flash freezing the sliced peaches can prevent them from sticking together in the bag.
