Le Fondant aux Pommes et Mascarpone

A cozy French-inspired apple dessert combining apples and mascarpone cheese.

  • 3 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 250 g mascarpone cheese
  • 100 g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 100 g flour
  • 50 g butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round baking dish lightly.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges, tossing them in lemon juice.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese and sugar, whisk until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one by one to the mascarpone mixture, blending well after each addition.
  5. Gently fold in flour, vanilla extract, melted butter, and salt until you have a smooth batter.
  6. Carefully fold in the apple slices, coating them in the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an indulgent treat.
