Easy Cherry Crisp

A delightful and easy dessert that wraps you in a sweet hug, reminiscent of summer days spent picking cherries.

  • 2 (21-ounce) cans cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup salted butter (cut into slices)
  • Vanilla Ice Cream or Sweetened Whipped Cream for Serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your baking dish by greasing it lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
  3. Pour the cherry pie filling into the baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, chopped pecans, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Add the sliced butter to the dry mixture and work it into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the cherry filling.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden and the cherries are bubbling.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.
