Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box

A delicious and nostalgic meal that combines tender chicken breasts with homemade teriyaki sauce and vibrant vegetables, all served over fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Cup Teriyaki Sauce
  • 2 Cups Cooked Rice
  • 1 Cup Steamed Broccoli
  • 1 Carrot (sliced)
  • Sesame Seeds for Garnish
  • Green Onions for Garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Rice: Start by cooking your rice according to package instructions. If you plan to use leftover rice, fry it for a few minutes in a tablespoon of oil for added flavor!
  2. Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Season your chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then sear for about 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  3. Add the Teriyaki Sauce: Once the chicken is cooked, pour your teriyaki sauce over the chicken and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  4. Steam the Broccoli and Carrots: Bring a small pot of water to a boil, place a steamer basket over it, and add broccoli and carrots. Steam for about 4-5 minutes until tender.
  5. Assemble Your Bento Box: Layer the cooked rice on one side, slice the glazed chicken on top, and place steamed broccoli and carrots alongside.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the chicken and serve immediately.
