Peach Cobbler Dumplings

  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the peaches: Slice fresh peaches and remove the pits. Combine with sugar and cinnamon and let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Make the dumpling batter: Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cinnamon. Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla; mix until just combined.
  4. Prepare the baking dish: Spread the peach mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Drop dollops of dumpling batter over the peaches.
  5. Create the syrup: Mix water and remaining sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil and pour over dumplings.
  6. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow cobbler to cool for a few minutes before serving.
