Golden Peach Cobbler French Toast Bake

A delightful and cozy breakfast recipe that combines the flavors of peach cobbler and French toast, perfect for warm, comforting mornings.

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup peach slices (fresh or canned)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the French bread by slicing it into 1-inch cubes.
  3. Mix together the eggs and milk in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Add sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg, whisking well.
  5. Assemble the bake by layering half of the bread cubes in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Pour half of your custard mixture over the bread and add the peach slices.
  7. Top with the remaining bread cubes and pour the rest of the custard over all.
  8. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  9. Let it soak in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, if time allows.
  10. Bake in the oven for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm dusted with powdered sugar and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to use stale bread for better absorption. For a vegan option, substitute eggs with blended silken tofu and milk with non-dairy alternatives.
