Sautéed Pork with Mustard and Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • Pork (tender cuts like loin or tenderloin)
  • Mustard (preferably Dijon)
  • Mushrooms (sliced)
  • Onion (chopped)
  • Garlic (minced)
  • White Wine (or chicken broth)
  • Heavy Cream
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Fresh Parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep the pork: Cut pork into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat the pan: Add olive oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the pork: Cook seasoned pork in a single layer for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Remove pork: Set browned pork aside on a plate.
  5. Sauté the onions and garlic: Cook chopped onion for about 3 minutes, then add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  6. Add mushrooms: Stir in sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
  7. Deglaze the pan: Pour in white wine (or chicken broth) and scrape up browned bits. Let simmer for about 2 minutes.
  8. Stir in mustard: Mix in the Dijon mustard until well combined.
  9. Return the pork: Add pork back into the skillet and stir to combine.
  10. Add cream: Stir in heavy cream and let cook for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  11. Finish with parsley: Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

This dish pairs well with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles. Consider adding fresh herbs or a spicy kick for variation.
