Peach Bacon Jam

A delightful fusion of sweet peaches and savory bacon, perfect for elevating sandwiches and breakfast dishes.

  • 4 ripe peaches, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the peaches by peeling and dicing them. Set aside in a large pot.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and chop into bite-sized pieces, reserving a tablespoon of bacon grease.
  3. Combine the diced peaches with the cooked bacon, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in the pot.
  4. Simmer the mixture over medium heat, boiling first and then reducing to simmer for 20-25 minutes until thickened.
  5. Blend the jam to your desired texture using an immersion blender, if smooth is preferred.
  6. Cool the jam and transfer to sterilized jars for storage.

Notes

This jam pairs wonderfully with bread, burgers, and cheese platters. It can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks.
