  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup bourbon (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pan by greasing a 9-inch round cake pan with butter and sprinkling brown sugar at the bottom. Arrange peach slices in a circular pattern.
  3. Make the caramel by melting butter with bourbon and cinnamon over medium heat, then pour over the peaches in the pan.
  4. Prepare the batter by whisking flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar in one bowl, and whisking milk, egg, and vanilla extract in another.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just combined; don’t overmix.
  6. Pour the batter over peaches in the pan, ensuring an even coverage.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cake in the pan for about 10 minutes, then flip it onto a plate.

Notes
