Gratin de Crozets Savoyard

A creamy and comforting pasta dish from the French Alps, featuring crozets pasta, rich cheese, and aromatic onions.

  • 200g Crozets Pasta (or alternative)
  • 200ml Cream
  • 100ml Milk
  • 150g Gruyère Cheese, grated
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 50g Butter
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of Nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients.
  2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the crozets and cook according to package instructions (12-15 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the cream and milk, mixing thoroughly. Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  5. Add the cooked crozets to the creamy mixture and incorporate half of the grated Gruyère cheese.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a buttered baking dish and sprinkle the remaining Gruyère on top.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

For a crispy top, broil for an extra couple of minutes, but watch closely.
