Apple Flower Pie

  • 23 apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare your apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them into thin wedges.
  3. Toss the apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  4. Roll out your dough on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 1/8 inch thick.
  5. Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture, distributing the slices evenly.
  6. Create flower shapes with a second piece of dough and arrange them on top of the apples.
  7. Brush the pie with egg wash using a pastry brush.
  8. Trim excess dough and create a decorative border.
  9. Bake the pie for about 30-35 minutes.
  10. Cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes.

Notes
