Smash Burger Bowl

A hearty bowl filled with all the flavors of a classic smash burger, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean preferred)
  • 1 lb red potatoes, diced
  • 12 cups shredded cheddar or Colby Jack cheese
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce or mixed greens
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow or Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • Pickles, for garnish
  • Extra lettuce, for garnish
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Toss diced red potatoes with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Spread on a baking sheet.
  3. Roast the potatoes for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  4. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, seasoning with salt, pepper, and half the Cajun seasoning for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Sauté diced onions in the same skillet for about 3-5 minutes until soft.
  6. Whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and remaining Cajun seasoning for the burger sauce.
  7. Assemble bowls starting with chopped lettuce, then adding roasted potatoes, ground beef, sautéed onions, and cheese.
  8. Drizzle burger sauce over the assembled bowls and garnish with pickles and parsley.

Notes

Serve warm and family-style for customization. Keep extra sauces and toppings on hand.
